THE SIR JOHN BARROW MONUMENT AND HOAD HILL

PUBLIC CONSULATION QUESTIONNAIRE

The Ulverston Partnership has commissioned Elaine Rigby Architects and others to work with all interested parties to prepare a Conservation Management Plan for the monument. Funding for this work has been received from the Heritage Lottery Fund.  Details, timescales and dates for future consultations will be made available at this web site and in the local press.
The Conservation Management Plan will provide detailed information and costings to enable a second bid to be made to the Heritage Lottery Fund to repair the monument.  This questionnaire, completion of which ended on 31st March 2006,  provided a valuable input to the Conservation Management Plan specifically to identify and set out the following:
  • What is important about Hoad Hill and the Sir John Barrow Monument and what it means to you and your family.
  • What issues are facing Hoad Hill and the Sir John Barrow Monument.
  • How the issues can be addressed.
